Funniest Speech at the Wedding

Today I have brought to you one of the funniest wedding speeches I have come across…. :)
Hope you would enjoy it……:)

"Hi everyone, before I start could I just get confirmation from the BBC technicians in the other room that the canned laugher is ready to go the moment I crash and burn,..ok, lets go.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to start by thanking Kevin on behalf of the bridesmaids for his kind words. I think they all look beautiful and have done a great job of looking after Gemma today. I would also like to thank everyone here on behalf of the bride and groom, for sharing their wedding day, particularly those
who've travelled long way.

I think it's fair to say that currently I feel like I've moved from the witness bench to the dock as I stand here before you, and yet I'm not the one who has been sentenced here today, sorry! That should be married. Still, as my jury I feel obliged to put the case for my defence before you.

When Kevin asked me to be his best man he dulled the fear I would experience by plying me with a few pints and offering me a tenner. I told him I couldn't be bought, so then he offered me twenty-five quid, and I asked him if he thought I was cheap. Finally he offered me fifty quid. So good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, my name is Giles and I'm the best man!!

Kevin and I first meet about 7 years ago when we started working in the same company. Back then at work he was always known as a 'god'; you would never see him, he was holier than thou, and if he did any work it was a bloody miracle! But times change and it's good to see he's moved on and settled down with someone as wonderful as Gemma.

Apparently, it's my duty to offer a small piece of advice to the groom and Kevin will be pleased to know that a successful marriage can be compared to football, 'be fully committed every week and make sure you score every Saturday' however, Gemma assures me that playing away from home could result in a serious groin injury and is definitely the quickest way onto the transfer list!!

So with all this good advice flying around I decided to ask Kevin what he was looking for in a marriage; he replied love, happiness and a family. When I asked Gemma the same question, she thought for a moment and replied a 'perky copulator', sorry, I mean a 'coffee percolator'.

At this point its traditional to read a few of the cards,

'Dear Kevin, from all of us at Madame Thrashards spanking emporium we hope you have a
great day. Ps many thanks for your annual subscription cheque.'

'Dearest Kevy Wevy, I miss your strong arms, your tender loving ways, the way you whispered sweet nothings in my ear. I realise I am a loser in love, but I will never forget those wonderful evenings we spent together by the pool. Love forever, Michael Barrymore'

'Dear Kevin & Gemma, Wishing you every happiness on your wedding day, unfortunately owing to unforeseen circumstances I can't be there with you to celebrate your day in person. Lots of love, Al Sama Bin Laden.'

It therefore gives me great pleasure to invite you all to charge your glasses, and be upstanding as we toast the new couple, Mr & Mrs Meek, the bride & groom, ladies & gentlemen, 'the bride & groom'."

Bondage to COMFORTS = miseries + helplesness + repeated failures etc etc

Today I want to share a thought with you. May be I should call it a ‘lesson’ I have learnt. The very reason we have enslaved ourselves to what we call as miseries. To make it easy, let me put forth that lesson with the help of a small story.

I came across a short story told by ‘Osho’, which will help me explain that to you. Well the story goes like this,
“A man, a great man, a fighter for freedom was once traveling in the mountains. He stayed in a caravanserai for the night. He was amazed to see there a beautiful parrot in a golden cage, continually repeating “Freedom! Freedom!” And it was such a place that when the parrot repeated the word “Freedom!” it would go on echoing in the valleys, in the mountains.
The man thought: “I have seen many parrots, but have never seen such a parrot whose whole day, from the morning to the evening when he goes to sleep, is spent in calling out for freedom.” He had an idea. In the middle of the night, when the owner was fast asleep, he got up and opened the door of the cage. He whispered to the parrot, “Now get out.”
But he was very surprised that the parrot was clinging to the bars of the cage. He said to him again and again, “Have you forgotten about freedom? Just get out! The door is open and the owner is fast asleep; nobody will ever know. You just fly into the sky; the whole sky is yours.”
But the parrot was clinging deeply. The man said, “What is the matter? Are you mad?” He tried to take the parrot out with his own hands, but the parrot started pecking at him, and at the same time he was shouting “Freedom! Freedom!” The valleys in the night echoed and re-echoed, but the man was also stubborn; he was a freedom fighter.
He pulled the parrot out and threw him into the sky; and he was very satisfied, although his hand was hurt. The parrot had attacked him as forcefully as he could, but the man was immensely satisfied that he had made a soul free. He went to sleep.
In the morning, as the man was waking up, he heard the parrot shouting, “Freedom! Freedom!” He thought perhaps the parrot must be sitting on a tree or on a rock. But when he came out, the parrot was sitting in the cage, the “golden” cage and the door was open.”

Well this is the story. And what do we understand from it?
The parrot which cries for freedom, even after being helped and showed way to its freedom, comes back to its “golden” cage. Why? Was that parrot mad? No. Or is that it dint know it was freed? No, it knew it was out of the cage.
Then what’s the reason?

It wanted its freedom from the golden cage but it failed to free itself from the “gold” of that golden cage. That parrot had developed an attachment with that ‘Golden’ cage; which had become its very comfort.

‘We’ are that ‘parrot’.We want freedom from many things, the very things which are eating our life away, the very things which are obstacles between us and our dreams. We shout aloud for our freedom, we cry for that. We want to gain the freedom. We want to achieve. But what’s holding us back???

Don’t you think its our very "Bondage to COMFORTS
What you say?
Awaiting your comments and thoughts :)

Warm Regards,
Sanjeev Kulkarni

Intro to my blog...

What this blog speaks about???

As i have read, heard and most importantly seen and experienced so far, life has 3 strings to it, which makes a Life 'The' Life.

1st) Live........ Lets Live as we have every opportunity in our pocket and never ever miss an opportunity to laugh out loud and bring the same to others...

2nd) Love........ Lets Love everything and expect little or nothing in return..

3rd) Do............ Lets Just do what we wanna do, whats our dream, what we think is best, what we think is worth in the life no matter how big or small that dream is. As a famous brand says 'just do it'....

So never worry, never complain.... lets enjoy the moments, no matter how it is, lets just "take it" :)
cheers to everyone and cheers to our lives!!! :)
